Composting Workshop

  • Garden to Table Silicon Valley 220 West Taylor Street San Jose, CA, 95110 United States (map)

Are you ready to get your hands dirty while learning about how you can make a big impact at home? Join us at the Taylor Street Community Compost Hub for our first Workshop, where we’ll talk about food waste prevention from the farm to the home, and then we’ll dive right into our hands-on activities, exploring different methods of composting and what works best for you!

Have you been thinking of getting into composting but are unsure of where to start? Have you tried home composting and something went wrong? We will address this and troubleshooting your compost pile during our multi-class workshop series!

In Track 1, you’ll learn all about Hot Composting over three classes.

  • 3 Saturday sessions; 10/19, 10/26, 11/2

In Track 2, we’ll provide knowledge and the materials to start a Vermicomposting bin!

  • 2 Saturday sessions; 10/19 and 11/2

And in Track 3, we will talk about all of the low maintenance composting methods

  • 1 Saturday session; 11/16

Composting is one of the most powerful actions we can take to reduce our trash, address climate change, and build healthy soil (US EPA).

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to engage with your community and contribute to a greener future. Sign up to join our first cohort. Let's turn waste into wealth, together!

**This program is possible thanks to funding from the County of Santa Clara’s Food Systems Resiliency Grant Program!
