Play Date at the Farm
October Play Date Rescheduled to Tuesday, October 22nd from 9:30-11:30 due to excessive heat warning.
We will have a special pumpkin themed play date on the 22nd. Come with your little ones for some Fall Fun!

All kiddos (0-5 years old) are invited to enjoy a some time outside with our chickens, worms, flowers, and plants. This event will be an informal gathering of families who are intersted in connecting their babies with nature and other families.

Join us for an engaging Vermicomposting Workshop at the farm, designed to teach you how to build and maintain a thriving vermicomposting system. This workshop consists of two hands-on classes where you will gain the knowledge and resources needed to turn kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost using worms.

Join us at the Taylor Street Community Compost Hub for our first Workshop, where we’ll talk about food waste prevention from the farm to the home, and then we’ll dive right into our hands-on activities, exploring different methods of composting and what works best for you!
Have you been thinking of getting into composting but are unsure of where to start? Have you tried home composting and something went wrong? We will address this and troubleshooting your compost pile during our multi-class workshop series!
In Track 1, you’ll learn all about Hot Composting over three classes.

Garden to Table SV is a volunteer-run urban farm in downtown San Jose. We offer educational experiences and programs on how people can grow their own food. All of the produce is grown by the community and given to volunteers, program participants, and community members in need. All of our programming is accessible, if not free. Hidden Crest Ranch is a local family-run goat operation. Peggy, in partnership with her children, Anna and Joe, take pride in their herd and teaching Agricultural Education for Bay Area Youth. We have been very fortunate to have their herd visit us for Summer Camp and volunteer days. All money donated from this worskhop will directly benefit Hidden Crest Ranch.
ABCs of Farming
Join us this fall for a fun farming adventure! Open to children ages 4-10 and their families, this 6-week program is an opportunity to learn and grow through gardening. We will dig into the soil, sow seeds, observe insects and other critters, and enjoy the taste of fresh fruits and vegetables that we plant and harvest. We hope you’ll join us in learning about sustainable farming while engaging our natural curiosity and wonder.
Dates: Sept 18th, 25th, Oct 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd (each Wednesday) Note: it is okay to sign up even if you cannot commit to attend every week. Please join us on the days you can :)
Time: 3:30 - 5:00 pm
We are a non-profit farm offering inclusive and educational experiences. We ask that folks donate $30-$50+ (or what people can afford) in order to participate in the program.

Interested in growing a fall garden? Come pick up an array for cool season vegetable seedling (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, lettuce, etc) to plant in your garden at home. Whether this is your first time gardening or you are a pro, our team members will be present to answer any questions. We will be able to share helpful tips and tricks for growing in the ground or in small containers on your balcony.
We are a non-profit farm run by and for the community. We want everyone to have access and resources to growing their own beautiful and nourish gardens. We ask that participants make a donation to the farm based on what they can afford. Typical donations range from $25-50, but any amount is accepted. We look forward to having you join us in the wonder of gardening this fall.

Workshop: Planting Culinary Herbs
Growing herbs is a wonderful way to add flavor to your cooking. Our climate is perfect for growing an amazing selection of annual and perennial herbs.
Please join us at Garden to Table Silicon Valley on Saturday, August 17th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for a talk about growing culinary herbs. In partnership with UC Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County, learn how to sow, propagate, plant, care for, and harvest a delicious variety of flavorful herbs.

Some of our favorite vegetables can be grown and thrive in the cool months of fall and winter. Come learn how to plan for a fall and winter garden that may extend your growing season through the spring! Please join us on Saturday, July 27th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for a talk about cool season gardening. In partnership with the UC Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County, learn how to sow, plant, care for, and harvest a green and bountiful cool season garden.
Be sure to sign up for our Grow at Home seedling distribution events on Saturday, Sept 7th between 11 am -1 pm or Wednesday, Sept 11th between 4-5:30 pm. We will be offering seedlings to plant at home in your garden.

Workshop: Dealing with Pests and Diseases in the Summer Garden (IPM)
Often our summer gardens are plagued by pests and diseases. Integrated pest management, or IPM, is a process you can use to solve pest problems while minimizing risks to people and the environment.
In partnership with the Santa Clara County Master Gardeners, please join us at Garden to Table Silicon Valley on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for a talk about IPM. We’ll discuss techniques to use at home to keep your garden thriving!
Workshop: Cob Building(High School & Middle School Students)
Come learn how to build with Cob! Cob is a natural building material made from subsoil, water, and other fibrous organic materials. We will be partnering with a local organization to install a beautiful bench at the farm. Join us for this hands-on learning experience with expert builders.

Workshop: Growing Peppers
What could be more flavorful than a bountiful harvest of ripe, delicious peppers from your garden?
Whether you prefer sweet or spicy peppers or anything in between, there is a variety that will work for you. Learn how to select, plant, care for, and harvest them. You can look forward to a flavorful summer!

Learn about the benefits of replacing sugary drinks with refreshing, herbal concontions and take home some plants and recipes to share with friends!
Family friends - all ages welcome.
Recommended donations on a scale ranging $10-25 per person. All donations are used to help host these workshops and maintain the community farm.
Grow at Home Workshop & Plant Pick Up
Join us at the farm for this series on growing a bountiful summer garden at home 🌱☀️
We will start by selecting your plants to take home!! Then, stay for a workshop on how to plant and care for your new seedlings, how to manage growing in the ground or in containers, and how to deal with pests and diseases throughout the summer. We’ll give you all the information you need for a successful summer garden!
We are a non-profit education farm. All donations are used to provide educational expereinces for the comnuity and maintain the farm. We ask that you donate $25-$50 (or as much as you are able to given circumstances) to participate in this program. The workshop is optional and seedlings pick up will follow the workshop!
